Make it Saucy, Make it Sauce-yal!

HOW-TOS / Jul 27, 2016

If you’ve ever cooked with oyster sauce, you probably whipped it out for vegetable dishes like chopsuey or beef n’ broccoli. But did you know that it can be used for much more than that?

The strength of Oyster Sauce lies in its ability to improve a dish in more ways than one. Aside from enhancing the taste, it can also lend some heft to the texture! Suddenly, flat juices feel like a fancy restaurant-style reduction sauce in your mouth.

Here are some classic Pinoy dishes that you can turn sauce-yal with some MAGGI Oyster Sauce.

Bistek with Oyster Sauce

If there’s a dish that shows our love for sauces, it has to be the one wherein we took the steak and made it swim in sauce. Why not take it further? Replace the soy sauce with Oyster Sauce for a richer taste and texture. See the recipe!

Beef Pares

This braised beef dish is easy to make, easy on the pocket, and easy on the palate—the winning combination that turned it into a carinderia favorite. But that doesn’t mean it can’t get better! Use some Oyster Sauce to level it up. See the recipe!

Pork Adobo with Oyster Sauce

There are probably as many versions of Adobo as there are households in the country. They all share a common sauce base of soy sauce, vinegar, and peppercorns. But if you really wanna shake things up, use Oyster Sauce in the place of soy sauce. Toss in some kangkong for good measure, too! See the recipe!
