Nestle Recipe
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 3 tbsp MAGGI® Oyster Sauce
  • 2 tbsp calamansi juice
  • 2 tbsp sliced spring onion
  • 1 tbsp toasted garlic
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 pcs potato, peeled and sliced
  • 2 pcs small red onion, cut into rings
  • 1 sachet 8g MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP®
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 kg cleaned tanigue steak
Step 1
Fry potato in preheated oil until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Step 2
Sauté onion in the same oil until golden brown. Strain and set aside.
Step 3
Season tanigue with MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP® and coat well with flour. Fry in the same oil until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Step 4
Remove oil from the pan leaving 2 tbsp. Sauté garlic until light golden brown. Pour water and simmer. Add MAGGI® Oyster Sauce, calamansi juice, sugar and pepper. Add back fried tanigue and potato and simmer for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Transfer on a serving plate, top with sautéed onion, spring onion and toasted garlic. Serve immediately.

Note:

Coating the fish with flour before frying prevents fish from drying while
cooking, prevents oil splattering and helps to thicken the sauce.
