Hoisin Roasted Chicken

Let your family and friends enjoy a whole juicy chicken packed with a blend of slightly sweet garlic, with just a hint of spice.

Useful Tools

 

You will need:


2 tbsp

hoisin sauce

3 - 8g sachets

MAGGI MAGIC SARAP

4 cloves

garlic, minced

2 thumbsized

ginger, minced

1 1/2 kg

whole chicken

2 pcs

onion, quartered


For the sauce:

1/4 cup

hoisin sauce

1/4 cup

peanut butter

1/4 cup

water

1 tsp

MAGGI MAGIC SARAP

1 tbsp

thinly sliced spring onion

1 tsp

sesame seeds, toasted


Servings: 2-3

Directions:


1.

Preheat oven into 375°F.

2.

Mix hoisin sauce, MAGGI MAGIC SARAP, garlic, ginger and pepper in a bowl. Rub mixture all over and inside the chicken.

3.

Stuff the chicken with onions and tie the chicken leg together with a twine. Transfer into a baking dish, breast side up.

4.

Roast in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours or until chicken is cooked through. Baste with the pan drippings every 30 minutes.

5.

Cover with foil and rest for 20-30 minutes.

6.

For the sauce, combine hoisin, peanut butter, water, spring onion and sesame seeds. Season with MAGGI MAGIC SARAP. Transfer into a serving bowl.

7.

Remove twine from the chicken and serve whole in a platter with the sauce.
