Potluck Sweet and Sour Bola Bola

When having guests over, why not try an unexpected take on a typical Chinese restaurant favorite?

INGREDIENTS

1/2 kg lean ground pork
1 pc small onion, minced
1 pc small carrot, grated
3 sachets MAGGI MAGIC SARAP®
1 cup vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic minced
1 pc small onion, julienne
3 tbsp vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup banana catsup
1 tbsp cornstarch, dissolved in 2tbsp water
1 pc small carrot, julienne
1 pc small red bell pepper, julienne
1 pc small green bell pepper, julienne

Directions

1. Combine ground pork, onion and carrot. Season with 1 sachet of MAGGI MAGIC SARAP® and form into 2 tbsp meat balls. Heat oil and pan fry meatballs over medium high heat until golden brown and set aside.

2. Remove oil leaving 2 tbsp. Sauté garlic and onion for 2 minutes. Add vinegar and simmer for 5 minutes. Add  water, sugar and catsup and bring to simmer. Season with  2 sachets of MAGGI MAGIC SARAP®. Check seasoning.

3. Thicken with cornstarch and water mixture. Add fried meatballs, carrot and bell peppers. Simmer for 2 minutes. Check seasoning and serve.
