Pork Hamonado

Having pineapple and a sweet sauce adds a different dimension to this festive pork recipe.

INGREDIENTS

1 kg boneless pork shoulder
2 sachets MAGGI® MAGIC Pork
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cups pineapple juice
6 tbsp MAGGI® Oyster Sauce
8 pcs pineapple rings, reserve liquid
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

Directions

1. Season pork with MAGGI MAGIC Pork. Preheat 1 tbsp of oil in a pot and sear pork on all sides. Pour pineapple juice, MAGGI Oyster Sauce, reserved pineapple liquid and brown sugar. Pour water to barely cover the pork. Bring to simmer and cook for 1 ½ hours or until tender. Skim the scum as needed.

2. Remove pork from the braising liquid and set aside to cool. Cut pork into ½-inch thick slices.

3. Preheat remaining oil in another pan and sauté pineapple until golden brown. Remove and set aside. Sear the pork over medium heat until golden brown. Pour the sauce and season with pepper and simmer for another 20 minutes. Transfer pork and pineapple into a platter and pour the sauce on top. Serve immediately.
