Every holiday gathering needs a chicken dish, but it should still be something festive. Try this!
1. Season chicken with 1 sachet of MAGGI MAGIC Chicken. Melt butter in a pan, lightly sauté chicken until light golden brown. Remove and set aside.
2. Add garlic and onion and sweat for 2 minutes. Add potato, carrot chorizo and mushroom and cook for 5 minutes.
3. Add flour and cook for 2 minutes while stirring. Pour water and bring to simmer. Add chicken and simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Season with remaining 2 sachets of MAGGI MAGIC Chicken. Finish with Nestlé All Purpose Cream, green peas and parsley. Transfer into a serving plate and serve.
"Pastel"means "pie"in Spanish, since the original recipe, Pastel de Pollo, is Chicken Pot Pie.
The love for rice replaced the pie, and thus our Filipino version of Chicken Pastel.

1 kg boneless chicken thigh, cut into 2-inch pieces
3 sachets MAGGI® MAGIC Chicken
2 tbsp butter
1 head garlic, minced
1 pc large onion, small diced
2 pcs large potato, medium diced
1 pc large carrot, medium diced
1 pc chorizo de bilbao, sliced into ¼-inch pieces
1 cup canned sliced button mushroom, rinsed well
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups water
1 pc 250 ml Nestlé® All Purpose Cream
1/2 cup green peas
2 tbsp minced parsley
